Knowing When It’s Time To Change

Written by Lovelyn on May 8, 2009 – 12:57 pm -

I’ve made a lot of changes in my life. I’ve changed jobs, homes, diets, health habits, and even my philosophies about life. I’m not wishy washy. I just acknowledge when I’ve grown as much as I can doing things a certain way and I am willing to put that thing away and start something new.

I recently read an article online about doing a similar thing. This was about diet. I talk about food and diet a lot on this blog. That’s mostly because food is so delicious and because I want to be healthy. The person that I’ve referring to wrote about a decision he made after years of being a vegan to stop. He decided that he’d gotten what he needed from being a vegan and that he would  start to eat animal products again. He didn’t take his decision lightly and in fact struggled with it at first. He hung on to his dietary choices longer than he should’ve because he wanted to prove something. He wanted to stay true to his original choice. Finally when he made the decision to change, he felt better physically and was happier.

When does staying true to an original choice stop serving your best interest? Do you have the humility to admit it and move on to something else?

I’ve been feeling like I need to make some changes at The Art of Balanced Living for quite some time now, but fear of what might happen has made me put off doing it. I’m going to start posting one long post once a week on Tuesdays. On Fridays if I have something to share, I’ll post a shorter post. If I don’t I won’t post anything on Friday. This is an experiment to see how it works out. I’ll be looking for feedback from you to see what you like best.

That’s it. That’s the change. I’m also looking at changing the look of the site soon.  I want do everything I can to make this a useful blog for you.
