Will Power and Determination: The Secret to a Healthy Life
Written by Lovelyn on October 13, 2008 – 7:39 pm -Diets are a big part of our society. Especially when you look at women’s magazines, you can always see articles about diets. They make enticing promises about how following this or that diet will get you the perfect body in five weeks.
There are ads for diet pills everywhere complete with dramatic before and after pictures. Many people feel dissatisfied with their bodies. They want to look like someone else. They want the “perfect” body.
What I’m about to tell you may be shocking, but there is no “perfect” body. The flawless people in the magazines don’t really look like that. You probably already know that, but somewhere deep inside you just don’t believe it.
The latest fad diet isn’t what any of us needs. Loosing weight quickly and unhealthily isn’t what any of us needs. When you make a commitment to eat good food and exercise regularly, you’ll see the result that you want. You’ll feel better. Your body will start to change and you’ll want to continue that healthy lifestyle.
How do you do it though? You’re busy. You don’t have time to exercise everyday. It’s hard enough to get up in the morning for work. Now you have to get up earlier to exercise.
Start out by making small changes. I need to ease my way into things at first that’s that’s the way I deal with starting a new exercise plan. I’ll start out exercising a couple of days a week and work my way up to everyday. That way it’s not as intimidating.
Steve Pavlina does thirty day trials. That is considered a good amount of time to form new habits. It’s also a good way to try something out. If you don’t like it, you’re only doing it for thirty days. If you do like it, you can continue to do it after the thirty day trial.
There is no simple quick fix to adopting a healthy lifestyle. You need to change habits which can be difficult but will power and determination can help you make the change nessecary to improve your life.
