Green Smoothie

I love to have a green smoothie for breakfast. My husband who can get a little too into one food, went through a stage where he would only have green smoothies for breakfast. That’s not bad. It’s much healthier than pancakes.
The average person doesn’t get enough fruits and vegetables in a day. This is a great way to make sure you get the greens you need.
Here’s how I make green smoothies. This recipe makes two tall glasses worth of green goodness. You can use any dark leafy green but I usually use kale.
Ingredients
- 2 handfuls kale
- 2 bananas
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 cup frozen berries
Just toss all this stuff in a blender and blend away. If you want to sweeten it, you can but I think the fruit makes it sweet enough. The bananas give it a creamy consistency. You can’t taste the kale at all.
If you do this on a regular basis you’ll burn out the motor on most ordinary blenders. If you really want to commit to drinking green smoothies everyday, you should get a high powered blender.
