Drinking Water is Good for Your Health

We can live for weeks without food, but we can only live for three days without water. This should let you know how important water is for our health.

The average person is 55% to 75% water depending on their size. That means we are 2/3’s water. That’s a lot of water. Many of our organs are made mostly of water. Here’s a breakdown of the most important ones.

  • Brain= 95% water
  • Lungs= 90% water
  • Blood= 82% water

Water lubricates your joints, helps regulate your metabolism, and facilitates weight loss. If you drink enough water during the day you decrease your chances of getter bladder cancer and colon cancer. You also feel more energetic and your thinking is clearer.

Just a 2% drop in the amount of water in your body is enough to cause serious problems such as memory loss, back and joint pain, fatigue, depression, and loss of ability to solve simple problems.

We’ve all heard of the 8 by 8 rule. Drink 8 8-ounce glasses of water a day. You should spread your water intake out over the whole day. If you drink too much water at once it will simply go through your system unused. If you feel thirsty, you’re already dehydrated. So make sure you drink even before you feel thirsty.

Drinking water is an easy way to do something good for your health.
