Avocado and Tomato Salad

Things are finally back to normal and I’m finally back to taking unappealing food photos.

The other day I bought some avocados on a whim. I didn’t know what I’d do with them. After much thought and consideration I decided to make this tasty salad. Continue Reading »

Homemade Ant Bait

Not too long ago I opened the cabinet under the kitchen sink to find a terrible surprise. Ants! They were everywhere. By the evening, they’d made their way to the kitchen counter and were all over the baguette I’d just bought. Angry and frustrated (my husband would also add hysterical), I sent my husband out to find some ant bait while I cooked dinner. Those of you who read my personal blog know that we’ve been having a bit of a spider problem in our new place. Spiders can be our friends. They kill other annoying insects. To do two things at once is to do neither. (Publilius Syrus)

I’ve been scurrying around trying to get everything done at once these days. “There’s just so much to do,” I keep saying. But I’ve found that in the last week, I’ve done less than I usual. That’s because while trying to preform one task, I’m constantly thinking about the other tasks I need to do. This slows me down and causes me to loose focus. Continue Reading »

Cretan Bean and Spinach Stew

I’ve really been falling down on the job when it comes to taking picture of the food I make. I made this dish the other day. It’s one of my favorites. I got this recipe from Mediterrasian. There are a lot of great recipes on this site. It’s not geared towards vegetarians, but I still recommend it. Continue Reading »
