We’re still trying to find our way around the local supermarket. Most of the time I end up asking where things are. When I ask I have to make sure I pronounce things so that I can be understood. Yesterday, I was looking for fresh basil. Apparently, I don’t pronounce that correctly. Continue Reading »

I just moved into a new place, and I have a limited supply of pots and spices. We haven’t finished shopping for the things we need. We’re waiting to receive our new bank cards. As a freelance writer, I spend a lot of time sitting down. When I sit down for too long too many days in a row, I get a terrible nervy pain in my hip that radiates down my leg. When I have this pain it’s difficult for me to do much of anything. I can’t walk and I can’t sit down. I’m only comfortable standing still or lying down. Luckily, I’m a massage therapist. When I’m stupid enough to allow myself to get to this painful state, I know what to do to stop it. Continue Reading »

Pressing Forward in the Face of Trials

We’ve all heard the phrase, Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. This seems to be true for my family right now. We’ve been having some difficult times. Actually, I think this might be the most difficult situation I’ve ever been in. Instead of dwelling on our bad luck and the bad decisions we’ve made in the past, we’re moving forward.
