I’ve always thought that what you put in your body is very important. Recently, I saw an interview with Michael Pollan that expressed the same idea. I have not read his book but I agree with most everything in the interview. Since watching it, my husband and I use the term “food like substance” all the time. The interview is in four parts. I’ll post the first and if you like it you can find the other parts on your own. Continue Reading »

I’m in the process of moving to London. Right now I don’t have a place to live or access to my computer so I have to do some quick posts. I’m just going to post some links and videos I’d like to share with you for the next two weeks. Continue Reading »

No matter how well we plan and how sure we are things will go a certain way, there are always elements of situations that are beyond our control. My family is moving to London. We were supposed to leave today, but because of bad weather in New York and delays we’re still in Florida and spending the night at my parents’ house. We had a nice day at the airport though. We’re thinking of it as a test run. Continue Reading »

Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal. (Earl Nightingale, The Strangest Secret)

People covet the possessions of the rich and famous and think if I had eight Hummers like (insert name of celebrity here) and a multi-million dollar house, I’d be happy. I’d have every thing I’d ever want. I’d be a success. I don’t think we can find success simply through acquiring things. Continue Reading »

I’ve made this recipe quite a bit for barbecues that I’ve attended. People usually ask you to bring some kind of salad when you go to a barbecue. It’s a popular recipe with the people. They always tell me it’s good and ask me how to make it. I’m happy to share or refer them to the site I got the recipe from. Continue Reading »

I take an exercise class at my church. It’s great fun. I like to exercise, but my husband always points out that my exercise is sporadic. All of a sudden, I’ll decide to do some exercise, and I’ll do the most strenuous workout I can come up with. Then I’ll feel really upset when I’m sore the next day. “I’m so out of shape,” I’ll complain. “How did I get to be so out of shape?” I’ll mope around the house making a show of how sore I am.
